Consider the excerpt we read and your small group discussions. Have you ever felt discriminated against? Or have you witnessed someone being discriminated against? If yes, explain. How did you feel?
What do you think could or should be done to stop discrimination?

Not often. Though once in elementerary school, some person discriminated against my skin color (which was darker then by a lot). I didn't very much care, since I was only about 8 or 9 or so. Either way, I now wish that I took advantage of my quick temper and hit him on the nose.
I can't remember if others were discriminated. I could guess that it happens in school elections, but pointlessly blaming race for everything you don't like is as bad as being racially discriminative.
Discrimination is not going to end by anything you say or do. It's a natural and ancient concept that evolves over time. Humans are naturally a communalistic species, so discrimination is something originating from the mind.
All you can try is explain it in more example, because often people consider discriminating against one group (i.e. African Americans) wrong, while discriminating against other groups (i.e. Mexicans, Arabs) is okay. That mentality should be removed.
